1949 – Samputensili is created as a spin-off and independent division of SAMP for the manufacture of quality gear cutting tools. Its first customer is the Italian Air Force. Samputensili develops its own tool production machinery to establish new quality standards. Number of employees: 20.

1952 – Creation of a sales office in Germany.

1971 – Opening of a new production plant in Italy, Ortona/Chieti.

1974 – Foundation of Samputensili France. Foundation of Samputensili do Brasil, today one of the most important production plants in the group.

1975 – First Samputensili chamfering machine.

1977 – First Samputensili shaving cutter grinding machine.

1982 – First in-house PVD coating system.

1988 – First Samputensili gear grinding machine. Foundation of Samputensili America.

1991 – Foundation of Samputensili Japan.

1995 – Foundation of Samputensili Korea.

1996 – Opening of Samputensili China in Beijing.

2000 – Samputensili Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH, originally founded in Eastern Germany in 1900 by Robert Hermann Pfauter, becomes part of the Samputensili Group, completing the product line with gear hobbing machines.

2002 – Samputensili and Star Cutter Inc., MI/USA form Star SU LLC in North America. Acquisition of the Fellows gear shaper cutter division. Introduction of the new CDM series of combined hobbing-chamfering/deburring machines.

2003 – New S 250 G generating grinding machine.

2005 – Revolutionary breakthrough in tool productivity with the new anti-wear coating Alcrona. Foundation of Samputensili (Shanghai) Machine Tools Company Limited. Beginning of tool production in China. Samputensili  now has 560 employees worldwide.

2006 - Samputensili, Sampingranaggi and Sampsistemi are 'reunited' as they merge to form the new SAMP. Reorganisation of the SAMP Ortona facility is completed.
