The SHR 25 is engineered to economically sharpen HSS and carbide hobs with straight or spiral gashes as well as special profile hobs such as skiving hobs for example, and, depending on the job at hand, it is possible to use CBN-, diamond-plated or dressable grinding wheels. The real advantage of this machine lies in its design principles. The grinding stroke is in fact actuated by the work table and not by the grinding head, which results in higher overall accuracy and better surface finish of the sharpened workpiece. The directly-driven grinding spindle allows up to 8000 m-1 and can also mount small diameter wheels. The machine comes equipped with absolute encoders for all drives, and you can choose between a Fanuc control unit or a Siemens Sinumerik 840 D.
The SHR 25 can single-index and multi-index grind. The standard version of this machine automatically calculates the optimum grinding position for hobs, including those with rake angles or spiral gashes. Optionally software for crown dressing is available, whilst grinding wheel taper angles can be adjusted freely. The machine is supplied with a dressing unit to dress grinding wheels, including the outside diameter. A setting gauge is available for CBN and diamond grinding wheels.
