The first “Samputensili Gear Creative Competition”, organized by Samputensili Shanghai (SU Shanghai) with the collaboration of Shanghai University, will take place on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 6 p.m. at the exhibition room of the Shanghai University Digital Art College (SUDAC) in Jiading District, Shanghai.
The SUDAC students have been asked to create a digital artistic project with the theme of gears. The winners will be announced at the end of the event and will be granted some scholarships offered by SU Shanghai.
Following its drive towards technological innovation, Samputensili has chosen the form of digital art for this award, a specific kind of artistic works and practices that use digital technology as an essential part of the creative and/or presentation process.
Along the lines of the "SAMP Award", which since 2006 awards the students of the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, Samputensili wishes to promote this pioneering initiative also in China, once again demonstrating its artistic and cultural sensitivity, even in those territories where the company has settled only a few years ago. This noble initiative is also aimed at further strengthening Samputensili dealings with local authorities and organizations in Shanghai.
