The offices of the Korean branch of Samputensili were opened officially in 1991 and tool production started in 1992. SU Korea now occupies an area of 1,815 m2 and employs 15 staff. 1,800 shaving cutters are produced there per year, mainly destined for the domestic market but increasingly also for the export to other Asian countries. Over the years, SU Korea has acquired such a level of expertise in designing and manufacturing shaving cutters, that the Korean branch has become the point of contact for the new subsidiary SU (Shanghai) Machine & Tools Company Limited for anything to do with producing this type of tools.
SU Korea is not only a production plant for shaving cutters but also a sales branch with a remarkable degree of expert knowledge in the machine tools sector as well. In view of the fact that SU Korea has supplied the Korean market with several thousand cutting tools and more than one hundred machine tools over the course of its 14-year corporate history, all the important Korean transmission manufacturers and other companies are to be found in SU Korea’s list of references.

Among the series of successes, we would like to mention the first shaving cutter grinding machine S 400 GS, which we supplied to Hyundai Motor in 2003. It formed the start of a modernization phase at the main plant in Ulsan. Acquiring a Samputensili machine was a hard decision those days considering that Samputensili was considered a Newcomer in this particular field in the Korean market. But this first S 400 GS worked so well that the first machine was soon followed by additional Samputensili machines to companies in the Hyundai Group and other customers as well.
