On April 1, 2008 industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation honoured 42 of its best suppliers at its third Supplier Awards Program at the downtown Cleveland Marriott. Among the award winners was Samputensili do Brasil, who received recognition from Eaton in the Indirect Materials and Services supplier category for gear manufacturing equipment. As Richard D. Holder, vice president of Eaton Business System, put it: “Of the thousands of Eaton suppliers around the world, these are the best in terms of quality, productivity, innovation and technology.”
Antonio Cordone, Managing Director of Samputensili do Brasil, stated on this occasion: "We are proud and delighted to receive this important award. To be ranked above the thousands of Eaton suppliers around the world is an amazing achievement and a great endorsement for all our staff and management team. I trust that this award will inspire our people to keep up the good service and do even better in the future."
The award winners fall within one of three supplier categories: Direct, Indirect or Logistics. Direct Materials suppliers are those which provide goods used directly in the making of products (i.e., bearings, gaskets, seals, castings); Indirect Materials and Services suppliers provide goods used to make products or support the business (i.e. cutting fluid, maintenance repair, office supplies) and Logistics suppliers handle the transportation of goods inbound from the supplier and outbound to customers, as well as indirect package transportation.
